Horniman Museum

Evolution and Adaptation

Situated atop a South London hill, with fabulous views of the entire city and a fantastic array of spectacles for children to enjoy, the Horniman museum is a jewel in the crown of London museums. This Experience blends natural history with live animals, bringing evolution to life in a way that no book or classroom ever could. The Natural History Gallery brilliantly displays the evolution of certain species – apes and elephants among them – through the macabre and lifelike Victorian taxidermy. Children can learn why and how certain animals adapt. After this, children can go outside into the Horniman grounds and witness these lessons in real life: the nature walk, the aquarium, the animal walk and the Butterfly House all offering children the chance to take in both flora and fauna.

A Clarendon Inspires mentor will arrive at the pick up address to give your children an Inspire session and drop your children off at the drop off address, where they will also give a Build session. Clarendon Inspires believes that it is important to invigorate the body, as well as the mind, so each Experience includes some activity time in the park (weather permitting).
