London Transport Museum

Going Underground

Fostering an understanding of London’s geography and gaining access to its unique passage through history is the intention of this Experience. Your child will attain a new-found interest in this truly global city. From its birth in Roman times up to the modern day, children will discover some crucial moments in the city’s history: life within the old city wall, the industrial revolution, building the tube and both World Wars.

Children will be encouraged to look for subtle clues surrounding them about London’s history: street names, architecture and building materials. They will finish by heading to Tower Bridge to take in the breath-taking views of London as they walk over the Tower Bridge Glass Floor.

A Clarendon Inspires mentor will arrive at the pick up address to give your children an Inspire session and drop your children off at the drop off address, where they will also give a Build session. Clarendon Inspires believes that it is important to invigorate the body, as well as the mind, so each Experience includes some activity time in the park (weather permitting).
