Gordon Museum of Pathology
The Gordon Museum is the largest medical Museum in the UK and as such makes a wonderful Experience for an older child with a real interest in studying medicine. The Museum houses rare artefacts, such as Lister’s antiseptic spray, as well as original specimens of kidneys, adrenal glands and lymph nodes, which led to the discovery of their medical conditions by Bright, Addison and Hodgkin.
This Experience is perfect for a child in year 9-12, who is thinking about taking Biology and Chemistry at A level in order to read medicine. Our medicine reading mentor will introduce your child to all the relevant topics and then accompany them to the Gordon Museum.
A Clarendon Inspires mentor will arrive at the pick up address to give your children an Inspire session and drop your children off at the drop off address, where they will also give a Build session. Clarendon Inspires believes that it is important to invigorate the body, as well as the mind, so each Experience includes some activity time in the park (weather permitting).

I am a first year singer at the Guildhall School and before that attended Eton College. I always remember talking to my grandmother about her experiences during the Blitz in World War II, as she lived through it herself and was evacuated to the country. This was really the initial trigger for my interest into the events surrounding the Second World War, and study on the years after the first and leading up to the Second at Eton further helped this interest to grow. I would love the opportunity to further explore this and impart what I’ve learnt so far in interactive learning spaces like the museums we are lucky to have in London.

I am a second-year Politics undergraduate at Durham University, but I have lived in London for my entire life. It is unquestionably my favourite city in the world; its history and culture have made enormous contributions not just to Britain but to the world. Since taking up Politics as a subject my fascination with the city and its legacy has increased, and I hope to share the inspirational influence it has had on me with others. My interests include politics, history, art and literature.

The world that we live in today is one that is founded on hundreds of years of mistakes. This is why I believe that the study of history is crucial in shaping any young mind, eager to explore the depths of what the past has to offer. Fully understanding history allows us to grasp how it is that the society we live in came to be. The past, creates the present and so, the future. Living in London offers any curious child the opportunity to unveil their interest. Be it the National Maritime Museum or the National Gallery. London allows every child to pursue their curiosities.
