Tate Modern

The Path to Abstraction

On the walls of the monumental Tate Modern hang some of the most important works of Modern Art in the world, but abstract art can seem an impenetrable subject – no matter what age you are. Our mentors will demystify the Path to Abstraction and this Experience will introduce the ‘whys’ and ‘hows’ of the radical changes painting underwent in the 20th century. This Experience takes in works by artists from Monet to Matisse, Mondrian to Mantz, but our mentors are careful not to overload your child, instead imbuing them with the same passion and knowledge that our mentors themselves possess.

A Clarendon Inspires mentor will arrive at the pick up address to give your children an Inspire session and drop your children off at the drop off address, where they will also give a Build session. Clarendon Inspires believes that it is important to invigorate the body, as well as the mind, so each Experience includes some activity time in the park (weather permitting).

Mentors

My 2 boys, aged 10 and 13, had a brilliant day out to the Tate Modern with Clarendon Inspires. A fantastic Clarendon mentor picked the boys up and dropped them home, making it fun and educational for them throughout the day. The boys were brimming with excitement when they got home. Highly recommend!
